Backlight Uniformity - LCD

Hey All!

I have a 26" Dynex monitor the following as happened. I heard its called backlight uniformity but I am unable to find an example of this on any other screens. The picture does not show it but it does go all the way around all sides. I don't notice it while gaming or general computer use. However its very apparent while watching TV or a movie.

So my question is, whats causing it and is it fixable?

Thank your in advance for the help and guidance!

The light source is big and round as pencil led from a #2 pencil.
Plastic light tubes then try to redirect the light in a uniform pattern.

In your example picture is the same I saw in the store and the reason I stay away from dynex.

That is one of the reasons for moving to LED illumination as opposed to CCFL.
