Backing-up Windows CDs

What's the best way to make a backup copy of my Windows 2000 CD? I've heard that CloneCD does a good job. I own Nero 5.5.9.17, If I make a CD copy with this software, will it be bootable (El Torito) and will it be an exact copy?

I'm pretty sure that's illegal. You're supposed to call MS if something happens to your CD...
Lifes a bitch that way, well... at least Microsoft is...

Then again, who's to stop you from visiting google.com

If you read the label, it says "Do Not Make Illegal Copies of This CD" and I think it's been said before that it's perfectly legal to make a backup copy of your software in the event that your origional copy is destroyed. However that software may only be installed on one computer, and may not be distributed or "loaned" to anyone. I actually had to talk with Microsoft's Piracy Department once and I asked them if it's ok to give an old version of Windows to a family member as long as it's only used on one computer. The person I was speaking with said it may legally change hands one time, after that, it's considered an illegal copy.

It is illegal to make unauthorized copies of the game or circumvent any copy protection technology that is used.
