Thats right folks a lEGAL way to DeMux the files on your DishNetwork DVR.

Note: I have not tried this procedure yet, but it should work good.

You have to join the yaho group, but once you do, check out Files->522 & 625 Stuff -> Demuxing 522 Recordings.txt.

Its an interesting files that wil tell you all the goodies about the files on there, such as the file system, how to properly demount and mount the drive, and how to actually make usable files out of the data on the DVR Disk.

Yeah just remember that by doing this you void your warranty. Most folks don't mind that though I guess.

or the easier way get a cable companies HD DVR with firewire output and record directly off w/o having to void any warranties.... and you can record HD. :)

I had one for a while. I had to get 3 different boxes before i got one iwth a FireWire port only to find out that the ports are completley locked dwon on by my cable company. Plus, even with firewire recording of DV, the operation is done in realtime and is subject to lost frames.
