My brother is asking me to help him backup his emails and address book this weekend.
Problem is, i don't know if he's using outlook or outlook express.
And since i don't use those stuffs, i don't know what files to backup if he wants to save them up.

So, what files should i backup to keep the emails and address books?
And if i reformat and reinstall his computer, can i just dump the files in the new installation or do i have to use any import tools to get the emails and address book back/

thanks.

For OE, its best to use the files and settings transfer wizard (xp).

Oh, sorry i forgot to mention that he's using windows 98..
And he's using outlook express.

Thanks for the info, btw -)
I found the option to export the settings from OE to whatever file. I guess i'll have him import the files again.

But then i thought i should introduce him to mozilla for the emails. I know it's easy to convert OE files to mozilla-enabled emails. But is it as easy to convert the emails from mozilla to OE? In case he doesn't like mozilla as his email client?

Thanks.
