backing up installer files

Sorry for the simple question. I want to back up a bunch of downloaded installers ranging from vid drivers to game patches to free/shareware apps.

Should I save the zipped or unzipped folders?

Are the reuseable? Can they be used to install over and over, or should I download and save fresh versions?

Yes, the installers are reusable. The only thing is newer versions of the program might be out by the time you reinstall. If the download is a .zip file then you can choose to backup either the .zip or the unzipped folder. The folder might be more convienient, as you would not need to unzip next time.
