Backing up email

I want to format and re-install XP pro but don't want to lose all of my Outlook 2003 e-mail which is saved on my computer? What files to I need to back up so I can keep my mail? Also, if I could back up my account settings so I don't have to add those again that would be great. Thanks

Easiest way would be to back up the emails to a PST file. Go to File-->Import and Export-->Export to PST file and choose the Mail folders you want to keep.

Once you've reinstalled the PC, you just need to reverse this procedure and import the file.
