Backing up DVDs

Ok, I have a library of DVD's I'd like to copy to my computer. I got a new LCD and it is now good enough to watch DVDs on. It would be preferable to find a program that would rip them to the HDD in a file format that WMP 10 would play without a hitch... This way I don't need to install a third party program. Also, the ripper would have to be free and the more ripping options the better. Would be running on XP Pro. thanks

I use DVDShrink to backup my DVD library to my HTPC. Media Player can play them, if you can figure out how to load the files. I reccomend Media Player Classic, you can just drop the "Video_TS" folder onto MPC's window and it'll run the DVD like it's a disk. You can find them both with Google 😉
