Backing up DVDs to hdd for playback.

I want to back up exact rips of my DVDs to play from my HDD perserving menus. Is there any better way to do this other than ripping it to an ISO and using a virtual drive?

Wrong forum buddy. No technical help requests, definately not with an obvious piracy connection.

no piracy... just dont like keeping my discs at college where they could be stolen during a party...
