I like to use CDRWIN for all my recording needs because everything else is just bloatware. CDRWIN is fast and simple. But I think I finally found it's limit...

I wanted to backup some of my DVDs after finding out some in mycollection are so scratched that they are no longer readable by my player. I used DVD Shrink to create an ISO image of the first DVD in question which was not ecrypted and then I tried using CDRWIN to burn that ISO image to DVD... it went through its process for a few minutes then said operation successful, but the result is a coaster. Can't open the DVD with any player and can't even see any contents using Explorer to open it.

So I just wanted to make sure no one else here had better luck with CDRWIN and DVD Shrink combo or should I use something else? If so, got any suggestions- something simple and not bloated perhaps?

For DVD ISO, DVDDecrypter is all you need. Development has stopped on it due to some legal issues but it's still easy to find. It's free.

It's development has stopped, but the burning side of the applications has been reborn as ImgBurn and is actively being developed:

To the OP, are you aware you can have DVD Shrink automatically burn the iso for you using DVD Decryptor? You must first install DVDDectr, then run Shrink and press the "open disc" button, on one of the tabs it'll give you a pull down box such such as create ISO, create and burn iso with DVD Decryptor, burn with NERO, etc
