Backing up DOS machine...without floppy

Ok, this machine also has windows 3.1 but I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Floppies don't work, I understand that there is no CD Burning software (I have a serial adapter for an external USB1.1/2.0 CDBurner) that is compatible with DOS or Win3.1...what else is there?!

Network card ... back up over LAN?

Or possibly pull the hard drive and place it in another machine.

Oh yeah, no network either.

Hard drive onto another machine as slave? Maybe that would work. Are slave hdd bothered by hardware differences?

Slaving the DOS drive in another machine should work fine.
