Backing up data to minidv cam?

It would be worth a free trial if you already have the camera. Since it is for "digital" media cameras, it should be reliable. Several years ago there was a solution that turned your VCR into a backup tape drive. It was software and an expansion card. I could never get it to restore a single file.
