Backing up data for a reformat?

I need to backup mabey around 13 gigs of data beacause i want to reformat and repartition my current hd. I have a ATA100 drive in this machine that i need to backup from, and i my cousin has a dell server with 3 scsi HDs i was thinkin about setting both computers on a hub and just transfering the data...how long do you think it would take? Also i was wondering win2k vs winxp which one, ive been running 2k for so long, ive tryed xp and had probs with sblive long ago, how are things now?

is it a 10/100 hub?

on my 10/100 switch transfering between my 2 pcs, i get ~7-8MB/sec transfers..

so id say ~30 min if it's 100Mbps network

on a 10Mbps network, ~4 hours, give or take..
