Hey guys. Wasn't sure where this thread belonged so I stuck it in the general forum.

Well I recently bought a Thermaltake Big Typhoon off ebay. Was about to install it just today but realized when I took off my mobo, that it did not have a backplate. And the BT did not come with one either.

Anyone know where I can buy one? Or if theres a way around this? I just wanna make sure I install it right because I don't want it falling off. Its so freaking huge. It would do some serious damage if it fell or flexed the motherboad too hard D:

Oh and btw, I have an ASRock 939Dual SATAII motherboard with an Opteron 144 if that helps any.

You could try the Asus Store here. Did you buy the motherboard used? Just curious as I've gone through about 5 socket 939 boards and have never seen one without a back plate. Maybe it fell off inside your case?

EDIT - changed the link to directly to the item you need. :)

Yea instead of using a backplate, ASRock decided to use 4 screws to hold down the retention clip. I wasnt expecting much from this motherboard, it was a budget mobo.
Just another quick question, are backplates universal for all k8 sockets? I found a bunch of stores that used to have them but they all seem to be out of stock.

I emailed Thermaltake so we'll see what happens. Keep you guys updated
