Is their anyway to make the background colour of the text for the icons on the dektop transparent? It looks real tacky having blue background with these red blocks standing out. ( The other half of the background is red, so I can't change it to blue or the red ones will look awfull ).

theres a program called windowblinds, that lets you skin your windows desktop (i.e. customize all the graphics in wondows) and it will automaticaly make the background of the text transparent.
but that prog will eat up some of your system resources, so it seems like overkill to just use it for that.

theres got to be a reasonable way to do it, id like to know too.

it apparently is just a registry hack -- run the program again to turn off the transparency. Also, from what I can tell, the color of the text is determined by what background color you have set [before you go transparent].

That would look semi-nice on my background. However, I limit the amount of icons on my desktop and clutter up my Start button :)
