I would like to know how to make my Redhat 7 and Win98SE window backgrounds transparent. I used to do this on my Win 98 machine a couple years ago, but I can't remember how. And I used to have a theme for enlightenment that did this as well. I use KDE 2.0 now though.
Not sure on the nix enviro, but on Win-based machines you have two options. Either getting WindowsBlinds + Transparency plug-in or going to LiteStep.net/org and getting hold of it. I'd rather you go with Litestep since it's free and it's highly customizable 🙂
i personally dont like to recommend litestep just because it messes with the registry and lots of people dont know how to get it back to normal once theyve messed with it. all the programs that make windows transparent end up sucking up a lot of resources. there was a program called TRASNSPERIZER that i used but i believe it was only for win2k at the time. you might wanna see if they support win98.
