Background process slowdown in Vista

I recently came across some info that indicates that processes having an idle priority in Vistas can cause noticable slowdown to foreground-priority threads. See http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2064330&enterthread=y

I'm wondering how many people here in the DC thread have installed Vista, and out of those, how many have noticed similar slowdown issues. (I may be posting this in the wrong forum, as I understand that many of you run dedicated cruncher machines.)

Definitely the RIGHT forums! I don't run Vista but some of us do and that's a good reason to check our output numbers.

Thx VirtualLarry!

I run Vista on 2 of my boxes, and have not noticed any such issues. I only have the CPU usage set at 60-70%, more as a heat precaution, but have not seen any such ill effects.
