Background lag with PS2?

For some reason when I have my PS2 playing a particular game on PS2, the background becomes distorted quite a bit like its lagging. This happens on my Widescreen LCD/TV and works perfectly fine on a tube TV. This also happens on my friends LCD/TV but not quite as much as mine.

Any solution to this?

It has happened with my tv and my friends tv, with 2 different ps2's. What game are you playing?

Playing KOFXI and pretty much every fighting game. I don't have any other games other than fighting games
