Background color in Media Player Classic?

I use Media player classic almost exclusively as a video player on my computer and I watch a lot of 4:3 video, but my monitor is a 16:10 LCD and I'd like to know if and how I can change the background for when I make the image fullscreen? I'd like to be able to maintain the aspect ration and make the black bars on the sides of the video white, because I've read that having a pure white background is better for LCD's in screensaver states and most definitely for things like this.

Thanks in advance.

This a question for specialists

You might have more luck on the Media Player Classic Forums

BTW, guliverkli is Media Player Classic.

I think you are maybe making too much of this white bars vs black bars thing. A LCD is not a plasma. Image retention is still possible, but mostly with S-IPS screens. And image retention is more likely to appear with white bars. For a plasma, grey bars are preferred.

Also, the white bars will probably be more distracting.

Just my opinion but it would be very annoying to watch a movie with white bars. The LCD will be fine. It won't do anything.
