Ok, this thread is for serious backgammon players.
I haven't found folks locally that play much, and my game is getting (ok, has gotten) really rusty. I want to hone some running, priming, and blocking skills with some thoughtful, albeit artificial, analysis. The two computer programs that appear to be the best implemented are Jellyfish and Snowie..
I've tried Jellyfish Light 3.5 (freeware, but no analysis) and at its higher levels using a bearing off database it pretty consistently beats my best game (about 2-1). I've not tried Snowie but hear it's quite good.
So, the question: since getting the full version of these programs costs $ (and I want the full versions for the analysis feature), I'd like opinions: has anyone used these programs, and which do you think has better analytics?
