Looks like the best way to see if a HD will fail (short term) is to stress test it for a few days with heavy load...
Then, after the 3 year mark, it is going downhill...which is when you should get a new one.

Funny thing is, they are using external drives, then rip them out of the case, and use those, instead of buying internal drives, since it is cheaper, for the same item.

I still would like to know brand details, and see which ones tend to fail more often.
