Read the US Supreme Court questioning from today. I read it as saying there does not even have to be a vote, the Florida House and Sneate can pick a slate on their own.

I don't think it will get to December 12th before Goresky concedes. After the PBC and Miami-Dade recount suit is flushed, the pressure from within his own party will be too much for him to continue the games.

BUT, it it did come to that, and the Florida State Legislature was forced in to a position where they had to clean up the mess created by the democrats, they would likely prevail in an appeal.

The way things are going, it wouldn't surprise me if the Dems appealed to the US Supreme Court over the Florida Legislators picking the Electors, if there is ANY semblence of legal grounds to do so.

There are bunches of more lawsuits going on too...more announced today....

Ride . . .

That's just it . . . the Florida legislature has the US Constitution and US Code on their side. The fact that they're convening early doesn't mean anything since they will probably not act until the 12th anyway.

If you read the article, there may be at least an argument to appeal....One could say that the Florida legislature set up the election to decide the 25 electors.....

Should it be left up to the legislature? It that what ALL the laws say?

Let's suppose that the Florida Legislature votes to give the 25 votes to Bush, even though suppose that at the time Gore had more votes. What's to stop another Democratic Legislature from a that state voted for Bush to vote in Democratic electors for Gore? And another state....and another state.....?

Why should we even vote if the legislature has the ultimate voice?

It just gets more and more interesting......
