Update: These a second rebate found on RebateHQ.com for $40, so it might be possible to make money on this deal. $40 Rebate
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lexmark Z65 inkjet Printer (#20190277) $69.99 - $50 MIR = $19.99 at Officemax

The Lexmark Z65 printer has been on sale last week, but not advertised, for $69.99 with a $10 instant rebate taken off at the register, these a $50 rebate that's valid from 1-25 to 2-28, This printer is in this Sunday's (Feb. 1) ad for $29.99 after a $40 MIR and no mention of a $10 IR. I thinking that the ad is incorrent and should say $50 MIR instead of $40 MIR, but I don't know about the $10 instant rebate, it may have expire Sat. and may not be available on Sunday.

I picked one up Sat. and also used a Officemax $10 off $40 one time use coupon i got via snail mail this week so I'm getting the printer for free after I get the $50 rebate back.

Next weeks Officemax Ad

$50 Lexmark Rebate, item #21

Those cheap lexmark printers drink ink like there's no tomorrow. :(

This one isn't *too* bad, the ink cartridges aren't dinky like the others...I've printed a lot and it's lasted me for about 7 months...and it is cheaper to just get the whole printer again than to buy 2 ink cartridges! =)

But I've never seen my OM have this printer, I wonder if I should go check it out anyway...?

Additional $40 rebate
It's always tricky trying to doulbe drip and send in 2 rebate, but it might be worth it to try.

Do this deal and get paid $45!!!

Go to the $25 off $100 Omax coupon thread at FW and enable the online discount. (this appears to be a brand new online coupon link that started today)

Now add the following:
Lexmark Z65 Printer (20190277) - $69.98
GE Remote (20681594)- $15.00
Fellowes CD Rack (20200729) - $8.00
Belkin Tool Kit (02232060) - $7.00
Paper Clips (09015424) - $0.29

Total will be $100.27 - $25 coupon = $75.27

Rebates will be:
Printer: $40 Lexmark + $50 OM ***
Remote: $15
CD Rack: $8
Tool Kit: $7

*** Note: $40 Lexmark is Pargo Miami and $50 OM is Easierrebates in Seatlle. Pargo wants the original UPC but Seattle just asks for a copy. They should both go thru with flying colors since they are totally seperate fullfillment houses. There might be a little YMMV but if one get's rejected the whole deal will be free. )

Rebate total of $120

You get paid $45.27 and can do it all online (I just did). The printer may not be in stock at all OM distribution centers so YMMV. (The Seattle dist. center has them in stock as of 2:40 pm)

Four rebates go to Easierrebates all on one form and one goes to Parago.

If it weren't for those damn expensive Lexmark carttridges, this would be an amazingly hot deal. As it is, it's just good. I'd get it and once the cartridges are empty, either trash the unit or donate it and get a tax write off on it.

In short, they are dispoable printer that once ink is used up its cheaper just to buy another one without replacing the inks.
Walmart has some great deal on HP printer with color inks included that print both in color and black/white LOL, for only 27.95. Cool right?

Your going to make $45 on the deal!! That'll make a down payment on a replacement set of cartridges.

Lexmarks are also real easy to refill.

Yeah, but that second rebate is kinda iffy. Double dipping on rebates doesn't always work so I'm not calculating it into the price.

Call me a noobler if you will, but how would you double dip in the 1st place, since you would need 2 UPCs (one for each rebate)? I assume the box only has one on it.

The fact that this thing is a big fire hazard is scary. Good thing I have so many heatsinks on hand.

Yikes, that power supply really is a piece of cr@p. It looks like it's a switching power supply from the outside but it's actually a transformer based adapter. It really heats up a lot even while off! And it's energy efficiency is abnormally low. It's only 24% if my calcs are right which would mean it needs to dissapate up to 79watts while being housed in an unventilated plastic housing. I can't really put a heatsink on a transformer. Ventilating it seems inadequate. The power supply is unredeemable.

I've been shopping around online and I've found a much better power supply from an older lexmark model. It's electrically but not physically compatible with the z65 but that's now problem for a person with soldering iron. It's energy efficency is a normal 61%. I'm picking one of these up and I recommend any of you with the Z65 or z55 do the same. At least put the z65 on a non-flamable surface.

The other power suply is the DND-3012. Search for it on google.

File complaints over at www.cpsc.gov and hope this printer get's recalled. If Lexmark is forced into a recall we might get new printers with fresh cartridges.
