Wondering If I should use Steam to purchase Civilization V or go out and purchase the DVD?

I just put together a Little casual gaming Rig in my signature.

I live in the country and its about a 45 min drive to go purchase the game. Is steam any good?

It looks good, but anybody have any complaints?

Im on fastest Internet I can get here and its a 1.5 Megabit DSL connection.

Yes, Steam is good and you'll end up using it one way or the other(not necessarily for Purchasing).

Its going to use Steam either way. If you buy the DVD, Steam registration is required. You'll likely be able to install from the purchased DVD, but Civ 5 will be added to your Steam list and you'll be able to download it directly from there in the future.

Want to play it today.. go buy it.

Other than that, I've only been back in to pc gaming for a few months, using Steam for my game purchases from day 1. I haven't had any problems and would generally recommend it. Plus they've always got game specials going on.

Buy it today on Steam, you can preload it. Then it will be good to go on release day.
