I have both the 512MB X1800XT and the AIW X1900XT and I can tell you that the X1900 AIW is the better card. Just from benchmarking the cards without OCing the AIW wins. But the X1900 AIW OC's like crazy while the X1800XT doesn't seem to OC very well. I sell custom systems and I've tested 3 X1800XT's from 2 differnet companies and 4 X1900 AIW's. There is no unlocking with the AIW X1900; it's a downclocked X1900XT. It only differs in clockspeed and amount of ram. I have OC'd my X1900 AIW to 645/1220 stable.

No way... What games are you benching these two cards against? Sure the X1900 AIW will slaughter the X1800XT in some tests, but in the majority of the tests the X1800XT is much better than the X1900 AIW.
People above this post have proved it and added all those links.

If you're talking about high resolution where the X1800XT's extra ram gives it the advantage, of course the X1800Xt will blow the 256MB X1900 AIW. But if you had read my later post, I admited that the X1800XT 512MB was slightly ahead of the X1900 AIW. Check Tom's Hardware for their VGA charts and you can do a head to head comparison between an X1900 AIW and an X1800XTPE and you'll see that they just about split all the benchmarks. The X1800XTPE takes 3dmark 06 while the X1900 AIW takes 05. The PE is clocked about 10% faater than a regular XT. Adding some links doesn't prove anything. There are plenty of links that show the X1900 AIW ahead. Funny how none of those were listed. It's not that hard too find all the benchmarks that show something your way and then listing their links.

So... I post 5 links, from Driverheaven, Pcper, Beyond3d, Techreport, FiringSquad and someone posts a link from our very own Anandtech that shows an x1800xt faster than the x1900 aiw and that's somehow showing things our way?

Then you go ahead and say Tomshardware is the only one you will look at and we are the ones that are listing links in our favor?

Then, I go ahead and check Tomshardware and the benchmarks are showing an x1800xt oc is slower than it's predecessor the x800xt and you expect me to believe Tomshardware isn't having some sort of issue with their benchmarking. AND... Tomshardware!?

And then I tell you I've owned an x1900 aiw and an x1800xt 512mb myself and can tell you straight out an x1900 aiw is slower than an x1800xt 512mb almost all the time.

After all of this, many people unanimously agree the x1900 is more in line with a 7800gt or x1800xl, save for some more shader-intensive games and you still think we are all crazy?

Edit: Sorry, meant for dani, not you BigJ

lol, you guys should stop argueing about this card...it hurts me everytime I see it bumped up and reminds me I missed such a sweet deal...sigh. As for your guy's arguements, none of the benches I've found had any overclocked benches. The x1900aiw is slow because it's crazy downclocked, but asside clockspeeds and 256mb less ram, it still has all the shaders and pipes of the x1900xt right? Wouldn't it be true that a highly overclocked x1900aiw be a lot closer to the x1800xt's performance?

Why get so worked up on this thread?? Who freaking cares which card is faster. The comparison should be between 150 dollar cards. And we all agree that this 150 dollar card kicks the snot out off every other 150 dollar cards out there. :) Sure it was a 150 bones for an hour or so if you were lucky enough to grab one (As I did :) ) let the 1900aiw winners enjoy their moment in the sun. (even if its not quite in line with reality). :p

Last night, the card is OOS (IIRC). I sign up for the notification when it's back in.

Today they send an e-mail that it's back in - for $75 more.

So, the stock shows up exactly when the price shoots up? Sounds sleazy to me.

They received more cards alright, but selling them now at $224. It's a case of "you snooze, you lose." Congrats to those who got in on the deal.

Well, that was the price before they, for whatever reason, lowered it to $150. They could very well lower it again, however unlikely that seems.

If you ask me, I think ZZF has really picked up in popularity in the last few months, they might be pulling some stunts like this to pick up even more interest.

Good call, its too bad you can't crossfire any two Radeons (at least not until R600). It'd be sweet to have CF (would have only been $300) AND dual TV tuners... ATI could really market something like that I think, especially if they got the software down smooth.
