Can this card be overclocked to more closely match the performance of an X1900XT?

Essentially, I'm considering buying this card as a purely gaming replacement to my 7600GT, and selling off my 7600GT to basically have this card for less than $25.

This card is worse than a X1800 XT so I am very doubtful it will OC or unlock (I don't think this one can be unlocked) to a X1900XT version

I dont think the memory on these can be clocked to XT speeds. Though with a good aftermarket cooler I'm pretty sure the gpu core could be clocked up (dont think stock cooler would be good enough tho).

I have both the 512MB X1800XT and the AIW X1900XT and I can tell you that the X1900 AIW is the better card. Just from benchmarking the cards without OCing the AIW wins. But the X1900 AIW OC's like crazy while the X1800XT doesn't seem to OC very well. I sell custom systems and I've tested 3 X1800XT's from 2 differnet companies and 4 X1900 AIW's. There is no unlocking with the AIW X1900; it's a downclocked X1900XT. It only differs in clockspeed and amount of ram. I have OC'd my X1900 AIW to 645/1220 stable.

I bought a Zalman VF700-AlCu for $25 at Fry's, and my X1900 AIW is now running at 605 core, 640 memory (1280 DDR). That's up from the default of 500 core, 480 memory (960 DDR) -- a 21% increase in core freq, and 33% for memory. Compared to the X1900XT, I am 3.2% slower in core (605 vs 625) and 12% slower on the RAM (640 vs 725).

Too bad I bought the X1900 AIW a few months ago at $275 and thought I was getting a hot deal :(

Yeah but what other card can you get for $275 that performs better? Don't feel bad, you got a good deal. This is just an insane deal.............

I've had this card for about 1 month with a Zalman on it. I thought it was horrible, sorry but I did.

The tv tuner seemed sluggish, it didn't overclock worth crap and it's slow. Yes, it is slow. I don't know how people are saying it performs higher than an x1800xt 512mb when it is on par with the x1800xl almost down to a tee.

For $150, it's a steal though. Hawt!

No dual DVI support, not even dual monitor support.
I'll stick with my 7600GT.

It has dual monitor support. It has one dvi and one vga. For the vga connector you have a second dongle that takes care of that.

BUT, the dual monitor support is horrible. Horrible lag when alt-tabbing out of games and the second monitor flickers. With every single damn driver. Sorry, had to rant.

Was the best deal going if you don't mind it being a watered down 1900.

For 150$ shipped it wipes out all other options to get any other video cards in that price range.

Still looking for one like this for a friend.

I wound up buying one just because of the price...I'll have to decide what to do with it when I get it. I mean, if I can overclock it a bit, and sell my 7600GT for nearly the same price, it should be a good upgrade right?

At stock, the card is about equivalent to a 7800GT....which is already a league above my card. I think I may keep it for my main rig...
