Back from paradise on earth...Maui that is.

Very nice.

My g/f is in the air right now from Chicago to Waikiki, she should be there in 3 hours or so.

Unfortunately I'm stuck in Pittsburgh making sure things don't self destruct with the IT director gone (with the g/f).

Well, if you get the chance I highly recommend it. That was the most relaxing vacation I think I've ever taken. We didn't try to do too much. Just lounged around, snorkeled, ate, drank, swam in the ocean and pool and explored the island. The hotel is the Hyatt Regency in Ka'anapali.

The IT director ran off with your girlfriend? :Q

😉

Don't fret, Jules. All you have to do is win the $110 million powerball lotto tomorrow night and you can live in Maui for the rest of your life.

Jules, the second picture almost had me crying over its beauty and the fact I'm not there. 😀

I really should have brought my film camera. There was way too much glare for my point and shoot digital without a polarizing filter. Next time we are taking less baby stuff and more camera equipment!

No kidding. That place is hella expensive. Regular 87 octane gasoline was $2.65/gallon.

The second pic looked fine to me but I am hardly a photography critic. I would like to get into that as a hobby so maybe I'll be more critical of your next vacations pics! 😉

Is that the Whaler?

No, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency. It's at the south end of Kaanapali.

We had a single room with a king size bed. Rooms are nice though, ours had a fridge, a little walk in closet and a living area with sofa sleeper and a desk. We also had a little patio set out on the balcony. The bed was very comfy and the rooms are nicely decorated. We were on the top floor of the south tower looking west over Lanai.

whats so nice about it?
i think we stayed at the same place...Hyatt resort?

anyways, i was there for 1week..friggin bored to my mind and generally pissed.
Then we flew back to oahu...aah...much better.

No, you suck. You obviously didn't spend enough time figuring out what to do. I've spent a month down there, and did a tons of things. For example, did you snorking in the submerged volcano?

Man, what a beautiful place. A week wasn't long enough...🙁

Still, it's good to be home.

And another

We rented a Chrysler 300, one of the new ones. Maybe I'll create a new thread with my review of that quite overrated car.

lol, I love how in Hawaii...as if the ocean 100 yards away wasn't enough, all the hotels have the sickest swimming pools ever.

Well, the ocean also has a pretty strong tide and is lined with coral reef which is quite nasty if you're a noob to the ocean and rub up against it. Many people are quite intimidated by it.

Good point, and also, they have life guards at all the pools where the beach only has them on the more popular stretches on ocean.

Maui is in fact, Heaven on Earth. I loved it sooo much. I will definately go back sometime in my life.

The north end of the island (where you were) is the most dreadful place for ocean swimming ever. I don't know why people go to it. Kihei is the best area around for peaceful ocean swimming.
