It's basically a super comp car which is an 8.90 class. The car is able to run in the low 7's with the right setup, maybe faster. We are shooting for low 8's, high 7's.

The swing arm takes the car and gently plants the tires on the track and is deadly consistent once you get it tuned. Most dragsters are hard tailed meaning absolutlely no suspension so this is all new and we are the only ones at all the tracks in this area with a car like this. I'm hoping we get a killer combination going on this. I'm gonna get to drive it too and we have another dragster lined up for this season my dad and I could race at the same time. He is going to race the other car until we get this new one completed.

We went to Palmetto, Florida which is south of Tampa. Didn't even have time to see the ocean even with us so close to it.

Gulf err whatever you locals call it.

it's nice there, hopefully you went over the sunshine skyway bridge (I-275) that goes from St. Pete down to Bradenton/Palmetto area, that bridge is crazy high

so that 80k car...

1. Is that a citation body??? Seriously, what is it?

2. Why spend 80k on a FWD car. Especially when it looks like they mounted the steering wheel in the back??!?

Not sure what we are putting in it. I'm guessing 600-700hp small block chevy.

I'm not exactly sure what the car is. It might be a pontiac of some sort or a chevy cavalier. I did not see the front body piece anywhere. Its definately domestic though.

That car is not FWD. There are hardly any FWD cars in regular drag racing. Sometimes they have Honda ricers and they are FWD but thats about it. That steering wheel was just hanging up there out of the way. Its a quick disconnect so the driver can get in and of the care easier I'm assuming.

Heh, as far as what that car is, it's a race car. There's not much of the "original" car (if there was an original). A friend of mine bought a Dodge Omni funny car from someone. I guess it has alot of history on it, but there's not a single part that's ever been close to a Dodge Omni.

What exit did you get off at for Palmetto? I live about 10 miles south in Sarasota :)
