Edit: The deal is back! $10 larger rebate for an end price of $130, smoking hot deal for the quality, power, and form factor of this PSU.

One month review: I've been using it since I received it a month ago, and it's been awesome. Voltage regulation is great, just as in the review. Flawless performance, the PSU is nice and very small for the power. I also really like the cables, especially the 8 pin PCI-e cables with two plugs on each cord. My only complaint remains that the fan clicks a little when it turns on under load, but I can't hear it from under my desk unless I'm down there for some reason.

Newegg added a $10 off promo code to the power supply this morning, good through Sunday. JohnnyGuru says it's a Seasonic PSU and rated it 9.6/10 (partially docked because the soldering quality on the unit he got was a little crappy).

Seems like an awesome deal for a 1000W Platinum, especially a compact unit like this. It's not much larger than 600-800 watt platinums. I'm almost in for one so I can cram as much power in my case as possible. I've only got another 1/2" length to fit a PSU, and it is less than 1/2" longer than my SS760XP2.

Great deal!

But all those GTX750Ti/950/960 owners will ignore the advice of buying a great PSU by spending a bit more $ upfront and having a safe peace of mind for 10-15 years of GPU ownership. Instead, they will keep overpaying $50-75 each generation for overpriced low-power GPUs for the next 10+ years, while surviving on their POS $30 PSU.

I know that you like to exaggerate to make a point, RS, but ... keeping a PSU, any PSU, even one with a 10-year warranty, for 15 years, is ... extreme. Also, not very wise.

It was my understanding 7 years was becoming common for warranty because of the lifetime of the capacitors, not because of potential failure of the build of the PSU. I"m pretty sure in 10 years, a power supply from today will seem archaic, much like my old Seasonic 600 watt (The one that made them famous for build quality). It's only 9 years old now, and it looks and is built like a relic.

I caved and ordered. Today is the last day, so I wanted to add that despite the newegg page saying the rebate is a prepaid card, you can request a check OR a prepaid card when you register for the rebate with eVGA.

The PSU quality is excellent, however I've noticed that since I mount it fan down in my case (filter and intake are in the bottom) there is some clicking when the fan spins up, as all sleeve bearing fans I've had do when facing down. Wish they used a ball bearing fan instead, but I don't think it will be a serious issue.

I have a 6 year old Antec TP-750 Bronze power supply that has been serving me well. Hearing about power supplies going bad after X number of years got me thinking that I may want to pick this guy up. Granted, I don't think I'll ever approach using 1000w but I do like knowing that I have a beefy power supply that's built well that will likely never toast my system. Do you guys feel like I should contemplate getting a new power supply or just stick with mine for a few years? Here's a link to what I bought at the end of 2009:
