I don't see where on that page it claims that DD-WRT is supported. Are you sure that wasn't just in a user review?

Here ya go....suggests installing DD-WRT. It has to be the V1 with the Broadcom chip. Just to clarify, the information about DD-WRT was on the Techbargains website not the Linksys official website. So I don't know where they got their information. I thought it was rather odd Linksys would be suggesting 3rd party firmware installed in their router.

I was looking into this router a few weeks ago. It seems that version 1 can run DD-WRT, but not version 2. Is there any way to tell which version this is?

The specs say 300 + 450 Mbps so it is the V1.....if it were the V2 it would say 450 +450.

It's now $89.99.

Is this a good upgrade from an E1000?

I would say it's quite an upgrade yes. This is a gigabit router...it has simultaneous dual band capabilities. Can do 450Mbps on the 5 gig band. It's a lot more router than your single band 2.4Ghz E1000 which can only do 300 Mbps I believe on the 2.4Ghz band.

Ok how did you get a $4.50 additional discount? Was that a Chase 5% Cashback or something?

Don't really know other than I placed the order on-line but never got any confirmation. I called them directly, telling them this, went through the motions and they gave it (discount) to me. Maybe for being inconvenienced with having to call?
