I bought a 750ml bottle of Bacardi 151 today at $21.99. That's right, I only got $.01 back on my purchase.

How long can this continue till a revolution occurs?

No idea where you got it for $21.99. It's $38 locally in all the stores. Feel free to call them. If you do, they'll probably lie and say it's $21.99, but take my word for it. See, this is why there needs to be research into alternative rums like Bacardi Superior. I converted to run on Superior years ago in anticipation of just this sort of thing. I predicted it but no-one else knew enough to listen.

Oddly, beer prices are somewhat down lately here. Sixers of Deschutes, Full Sail, and other decent local micros are going for $5.99.

Myers Platinum (light) is $14/fifth here, Myers Dark is running $17. One of my favs, Coruba Dark is running about $15. All good Jamaican rums.

Honestly, I'm not much of a Bacardi fan.

I've had others, but I always come back to Bacardi. I just prefer it for my Rum and Coke.
