I really don't know where the best place is to post this topic, so I will start it here.

My wife and I just decided last month to start trying to have our first child. So wouldn't you know, the first month she became pregnant! We expected it might take a little longer, but are very pleased nonetheless!

Anyway, I am trying to figure out the best way to set up a video/audio baby monitor (for under $500) and wondered if anyone has experience with this. Our house is situated like this....

Our bedroom is on the 3rd level and the nursery will on the 2nd level. My home office is in the basement. Every room in the house has computer network ports and TV coax plugs. We do have a low voltage network box in my office that is a central hub for all the phone lines and video (coax). -It is quite simple to connect TV 1 in room A to TV 2 in room B. There is a computer in the room adjacent to the nursery and my computer downstairs. My PC's router/hub is in the office downstairs. In addition, we have TV's in our bedroom, my office, and in our living room (the three most important places we would like to monitor from).

The two scenarios I envision are using either our PC's to somehow link the video, or if possible to the TV's. Ideally, I would like to have a camera in the nursery that can broadcast realtime audio and video to all of the existing TV's in the house (maybe to a certain channel). I have no idea if this is even possible. We do have DirectTV, so the network of coax connections wired throughout the house is not currently used.

Does this all make sense? Anyway, the only products that I have really come across is that "x10" surveilance system that has ads all over the internet but I don't know how to broadcast audio with this system or to broadcast simultaneously to all three TV's.

If anyone has some ideas or suggestions I would certainly appreciate it!

Thanks!
