Thread for winter types of pictures. Post 'em! I keep forgetting to take a picture of the gardens I get from the hose - some days, it looks like a garden of mushrooms made out of ice.

It's not dark in New York at 9:33 AM.

Balmy 24F here in S. CT this morning. Haven't had any snow since October.

The Queensboro Plaza hookers are still walking around. Of course, they are so doped up they probably don't even feel the cold.

I took that picture last night, before it started getting colder. Dropped down to about 10 degrees here. (Fahrenheit for you fools from elsewhere who think I'm talking Celsius. See the ice? Fools.) I thought it was cool how the spraying water started freezing outward, extending the hose into an ice hose. I increased the flow slightly to avoid problems - I don't like it when the hose freezes. (Hence the insulation that you can see.) Animals like to drink water in the winter; and I don't like to carry water buckets.

Fuck that. We've had a few nights that dropped down to under 30 recently. Even that seems too gawd-damned cold.

Almost no rain so far this season...which means no snow in the high country.

I went for a run yesterday wearing only a t-shirt and shorts, we're having an unusually mild christmas here in Denmark.

if the water is freezing that quick how do the animals drink it? Do you have a heated area for them to feed?

It was in the mid 70s and sunny here yesterday. A friend of mine and I took our motorcycles out for a spin in the twisties in East County.

When you have a 40 gallon bucket for them to drink from, it takes a while for it to freeze over. Of course, that means that some mornings, I get to carry 150 pounds of frozen over water outside to dump.

Shocker, its mid 40s and cloudy/misty in Seattle. That's such an unusual forecast for this area. I mean...its not like that's the forecast every day from October through May or anything....

You all suck. The high here has been about a solid 15. Everyday since Monday of last week when Ive left for work its been at the highest -5. Freak storm hit us last weak and we got about 24-30 inches of snow with about 12 inches left on the ground now.

i flew back in to roch last night, theres like 2 inches there. thats pretty much nothing IMO

I agree, a lot of the area doesn't have much snow. But I live in Irondequoit, close to the lake, and there was enough to shovel my driveway last night. I work in Gates, and we don't have much here either, so I guess the bulk of it is up by the lake...

It's been getting down into the upper 20s at night here in central California. Walk outside and the dew is all frozen on the grass and the cars are all frosted over and iced up. Puddles are freezing over, too. Very weird...haven't seen this type of weather since the mid 90's. There has been almost no precipitation, though.

Had a few days of pea soup fog two weeks ago...about 20 feet of visibility and didn't burn off until after noon. That was fun.
