Babies in Restaurants or Movies: What do you think?

Are you bothered by crying babies in restaurants and movies, or do you just accept it as a part of life?

Depends on what kind of movie or what kind of restaurant. If I go to a nice restaurant it bothers me at times, or at a movie that's more adult oriented. Otherwise I just accept it.

Babies don't bother me. It's the rude parents that bring the kids, then don't know when to take them out of the theater and restaurants.

shiznut, it's not the babies at fault... it's the parents.

I have never taken my children somewhere that was inappropiate. The one time I flew on an airplane with a baby, it was when she was breastfeeding so she was happy the whole time.

However, it's NOT because I care so much about what the general public thinks...

It's because I want my kids to always be in the best environment possible for them.

Yes, I can't stand it. But what's worse is cell phones. If you have a cell phone in a movie theatre, TURN IT OFF or put it on Vibrate/Silent. I have actually been in a movie theatre when someone has answered their phone during a movie and carried on a conversation!

Luckily, it was Castaway so it didn't really matter. 😀

Damn stupid babies can't shut up. Hehe, nah I'm just playin, but as everyone said, it's not their fault, it's the idiot parents that bring them along. If they were smart, they'd get someone to watch the kid then go out.

The last time I was really annoyed was when I took my nieces to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Some parents brought their baby and let it cry for a good 30 minutes. It wasn't the crying that annoyed me, it was the fact the parents would do that to a child. I consider it abuse.

as long as the parents are responsible...and know when to take the baby elsewhere, I don't mind!

Babies are wonderful things. I want to make them one day.

In my restaurant people who bring babies are usually sat in the worst seats (if at all) and given the worst service. Its an upscale suit and tie place where people like to dine in peace.

Baby, the other other white meat.😉 Seriously though, I think a baby is appropiate as long as it's not a fancy resaurant or adult movie; and the parents take the baby out of all other places if it begins to cry.

Well, I cant say

I hate kids...not in a horrible way

just that They're annoying...in the same way I'm sure I was.

But what I cant stand is in the grocery store...6 kids running around in the aisle w/ their mom yelling at them....

does anybody need that many kids?

What I hate are people who carry there kids along and don't watch after them. They go all fast and they kids lag behind. I've seen something like that and the kid trips and falls and the kids mom yells at him and hits him. It's a certain race around my area but i'm gonna keep my mouth shut.

At classy restaurants and movies, yeah, I think parents should take out fussy babies if they start to get loud. It's just a sacrifice they have to make. The joys of parenting come with... responsibilities.

LOL, what kind of adult movies have you been going to where they admit babies? 😀😛😉
jk

I went to see Gladiator with wife awhile back and some couple brought a young kid, about 5 or 6 with them. the kid talked and asked questions through the whole thing. we complained and I said something to them, but they didnt tell him to be quiet nor take him out of the theater. it was rude and inconsiderate. I expect that in a kid movie, but a R-rated adult movie?

Just wait for them on a 15 HOUR FILGHT, GEE they are NOISY!!!!!!!!!

🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

gosh, they're so ANNOYING!!! in restaurant, especially in movies...
and it really pisses me off that some parents do much to deal with it :|

Love kids but dont want any of my own. Shouldnt bring them to adult movies or to nice restaraunts. If leaving the baby with a sitter does not permit then make sure you take the little tike out to the waiting area if he/she starts to fuss, to make life better for everyone inside the restaraunts.

if the parents don't know how to deal with kids in public to keep the respectable, its the parents fault, but once in a while niether the parents nor the kids can deal with it, so really shouldnt bpam3e any one

The point of a nice restaurant is the atmosphere. I wouldn't dream of taking my kids in a nice restaurant even at 3 and 7. That's what McDonalds is for, and if it's just the food you want just do a take out order. Either way, if you find yourself in these situations, get a manager and they should take care of the problem ... While we're on the topic how about the people that show up to a movie 10 minutes late looking for a seat, have about five people with them, trying to get people to move in to make room (especially when you have your prime spot already), etc.? It never fails. I don't even try to get into a movie after it starts, can't find a seat, unless I was by myself, and it's rude. Buy a watch, or see a later movie.

You turn off your mobile phone in a restaurant or cinema, so babies should be turned off as well.

Don't know how to turn a baby off? Well it's very simple: grab their head, turn it a few times to either the left or right site until you hear (and feel) something shift/break, then the baby is turned off.

I still have to find out how I can turn those babies I've turned off on again...

😉
