Get this! The biggest corporate financial supporter of Bush/Cheney was Enron! Enron who looted California to the tune of 70 BILLION DOLLARS, who also helped bring Nazi Arnie in, are the ones who are killing us! IF Kerry wasn't such a wussie weak wristed broken man, he could have done something about this. Poor guy, you can really see why the democratic party is dead meat without LaRouche, they have no idea on how to fight!

Yeah...that commercial is a JOKE!

Esp. considering it's been PROVEN that Kerry did not vote 11 separate times to raise gas taxes. That commercial is Hannity's favorite thing to parrot.

Thats just insulting to everyone's intelligience.

These are Dick Cheney type lies. For example, a similar Cheney lie is that Kerry 'supported' the war and then didn't give the troops what they needed to fight.

First off, Dick Cheney lied repeatedly and cited fraudulant evidence of 'weapons of mass distruction' and mushroom clouds over DC. Kerry being a wussy, bent to that Dirty Dick Cheney, then the fraud was known. After Cheneyacks promised that we 'would be welcomed as liberators' and 'need only 25,000-50,000' troops to take over and rebuilt/control Iraq, were proven to be completely insane, they request 87 BILLION DOLLARS! This money would have gone streight to Cheneys Buddies company, Halliburton, which is stealing and looting from the government and taxpayers with overcharges. What a joke.

Well it shows your intelligence for believing the ramblings of someone who doesn't understand what the commercial actually said.

Oh, and conjur - I don't believe the ad stated that kerry "voted" for them 11 times. It stated that he supported increasing gas taxes 11 times.;) As we all know(thanks to kerry) that you don't have to vote for something to support it;)

Wouldn't a more important question be does Kerry want to raise taxes on gas NOW. I could care less what he wanted to do 10 years ago.

Yea CAD, I'd like a 3 page paper with footnotes and research talking about the symbolism and perhaps the allegories in it too. [/sarcasm]

We all know that interpretation is relative.

Yes - I've seen the commercial. It's titled "wacky". You can watch it again HERE.

His "support" of the 50cent gas tax was also mentioned in "Troubling" and "Differences". There was NO blaming kerry's proposal for the current higher price of gas like you and PingSpike suggest and think.
The "intent" was: If you think gas prices are high now -wait until someone who supported higher gas taxes and thinks higher prices will make people drive less.

That's pretty funny, still an insult to any one's intelligence, because if if Bush and co. is elected again, imagine how much more you'll have to pay.

Yes, the innuendo is obvious. kerry would increase taxes on gas if his record of supporting them is any indication:) But yeah, I suppose it is intellectually dishonest to think kerry would be consistant with his support of things....:Q:p

Sorry Gaard - you caught me and I apologize for the intellectual dishonesty.;)

In your mind, there is no innuendo about Kerry voting 11 times?

I'm think of this every time I see that Bush ad where he says "Manufacturing activities are up."

That explains it. I wondered why Bush's re-election committee was bashing
Cheney for his 1986 proposed gas tax increase!

Gas is still too cheap in the US. It only recently became more expensive than water and is still cheaper than milk.

Until consumers want to buy fuel efficient, manufacturers have little incentive to research or produce fuel efficient.

i like that commercial. it shows a distinct difference between the two parties. democrats like to tell people how to live their lives, republicans like for people to live thier own lives and make their own decisions. how does this fundamental difference in ideology affect gas tax and driving? well, democrats have historically favored higher gas taxes and other measures (car pool lanes) which are designed to do one thing - make it as inconvienent as possible to drive so people will drive less. why do democrats want people to drive less? simple, they think automobile exhaust polution is damaging to the environment. so damaging in fact, that they think its necessary for the legislature to do whatever is necessary to make it as inconvienent as possible to drive. less cars -> less polution -> better environment. they also think its right for the government to force car manufacteurs to achieve higher mpg.

the democrats should release their own verison of this commerical. "we support higher gas taxes and legislation designed to force car manufacteurs to achieve higher mpg. we feel your driving privelidges come second to protecting the environment from harmful automobile exhaust."

this IS the democratis position and i dont get why the commie-libs on this board are running from it

Really? Kindly explain that to the women in this country who believe they should have the right to make their own decisions about pregnancy. Explain it to the people who believe the government has no business telling adults what they can and cannot read, what they can and cannot watch, what they can and cannot do in the privacy of their own bedrooms. Let's see you sell that canard to gays who want to make their own decisions about getting married, and to all Americans who believe the federal government has no right to get involved in the issue.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Thank God somebody in D.C. will at least occasionally rise above their corporate payola and think about our future. If we left it up to Bush, the United States would be a coast-to-coast strip mine smothering under air so dense with pollution we'd all need snow blades on the front of our 2 mpg sport utility tanks.

Seems more like President Bush is running against Vice President Cheney. What with all these attack ads for decreased defense spending and increased gas taxes that Cheney either proposed or supported!

Excuse me. Who is doing the running? Try looking in the Mirror. Oh that's right, you must drive one of those 8 mpg Mamoth Monster SUV's to carry your yella behind around.

Shouldn't have to "force" the manufacturers to achieve higher mpg, we have NO excuse for going backwards. A bunch of yella Ahole Pansies suckered by Sand Castle men and the Auto Execs they have in their back pocket.
