Saw it in the SJ Merc today. Should be good through tomorrow. OEM CPU. How come we never get the retail one like the Fry's in SoCal? Oh well.

Wow, pretty sweet. I'm all over this. Hopefully the Fremont one will have some in stock.

Just a little caution. ECS motherboards are cheap, low end motherboards. Don't expect to get lots of on board jumpers, different on board connectors and great performance. Otherwise its ok.

yes they are cheap, but they are quality boards if no overclocking is involved. they have improved greatly since before. i have built probably more than a dozen machines with this board, and used very cheap PSU's and have no problem. especially with the newer version 3.1 ones, they seem to quite ok.

I have this board and as long as you don't plan to us a wireless USB adapter you are OK.

I have about a dozen of these boards. I have taken 1 back that would cause the machine to lock up intermittently, but otherwise they have been trouble free. I have two of them running USB 802.11b adapters without any problems.

Strange, I am using wireless USB adapter (MN510) right now and it's working very well....

I had a chance to buy it in San Diego, but I decided against it. I'd rather spend the money on a Tbred.

I purchased this combo the day after Christmas. It's been running just find. My package came with a retail CPU at that time. The board is a low end board, but it does everything that I need it to do.

The Fremont Fry's had a stack of these. I picked up one. Pricewise they break it down as $59 for the motherboard and $39 for the CPU.

I went into a SoCal Fry's this afternoon... ALL opened box motherboards. I'm not sure if that matters to you guys, but I would rather get a new box.

They wanted a hundred bucks just for the processor when I asked at the time of the day after Christmas sale. I have the board already.

They have LOTS of NIB ones, but they are stashed on the top shelves. Just tell the sales guy you want one that wasn't molested before. He'll get a ladder to get one for you.

Same thing happened to me. All I saw was open box labels, but I decided to ask. Low and behold there was a huge stack on high shelf off to the side. Worth asking about.

Also, sometimes they have a bin on the next aisle over full of these boards...all NIB, while the shelves are chock-a-block full of open box. Ask or look around.

I bought the same deal last month... using it now.. pretty good for the price, but I do have stablity issues.. I get lockups on prime95's torture test and I want to blame the motherboard.. but other than that.. good price

Other way around bud. The CPU went for $59 and the motherboard went for $39. You think they're gonna take a $100 chip and sell it for $40? N'way.

I recently bought this combo to build a computer for my father-n-law. So far it has been flawless, not one problem at all.
I'm quite happy with the speed and stability.

I saw lots of them the day after Christmas is Sacramento. I don't know about today, but you can call and ask for components. They can tell you
