I just got borked by Directcanada.com - they invoiced me a SLACR "GO" (and packing slip) and they sent me a B3 (SL9UM). Crap crap crap
OR should I send it back - I am somewhant pissed after waiting 10 days for my GO that never came.
I am thinking sending it back and getting the E6750 that way if I do not get a GO stepping it would not really matter.
They also sent me an ABIT IP35-E in a box that was not sealed - are the boxes sealed generally - anyone out there knows for sure and if so please confirm the contents. The contents of mine are CD, 2 SATA cables, 1 FD and 1 UDMA cable, I/O shield.
Comments?

I would send back and get what you want, make sure they pay shipping both ways. Also with Mobo boxes, the boxes are NOT always sealed however the mobo itself should be in a sealed anit-static plastic bag. You should be able to check the side of the box where is lists the contents or you can look here at newegg...

But it looks like the mobo came with everything it was supposed to. If you mobo was sealed inside the box then your probably good there.

If they said it's SLACR, then it better be SLACR. The G0 is quite a bit cooler running than B3, that'll give you some overclock headroom.

As for abit, I bought a new retail from Newegg, and also have seen a new retail box at Fry's, I can confirm that the Abit boxes are NOT sealed, also there's no evidence of sealed tape. The only indication whether it's new is from the packaging. Does the manual look new and unread? does the static shielding bag look new and crisp and not crumpled? Sounds like you have all the content.

damn that directcanada company!!! i feel you!

i'd send it back and make them pay shipping for both items.

my gigabyte and asus MB's were all sealed at the box AND at the antistatic bag from clubit/newegg...

and def keep the 6600 over 6750

My gigabyte mobos from newegg weren't sealed, I've never heard of any company that shrink-wraps mobos. Sad but true.

I am calm now. Even though I opened the CPU box I am still sending back. Careless but it was not my fault in the first place. Darn.
To teach them a lesson the IP35-E is also going back and they will have to reship both again - the proper way or cancel. The antistatic bag was not sealed so therefore it counts as an open box in my books.
Bloody retailers think they can pass one off.
I have to figure a way to get them to pay shipping? Any ideas? Worse comes to worse I can use the cheapest method available.
They must learn to deal fairly.

The motherboard bag isn't always sealed. In most cases, we have to put a company/warranty sticker on the board.

JackPack - sounds like you are working for a retailer unless if I am misreading. Doesn't matter - they MUST ALWAYS be sealed - "we" the consumers are paying for "new" stuff (not open box or refurbished) and retailers must ensure that the packaging is up to snuff. Anytime I walk in to a store and a product isn't sealed properly I put it back - simple as that.

Just because it's sealed doesn't necessarily mean it's brand new from the factory. I bought a 8800GTS from circuit city, who says they don't sell open box items. When I opened it, there was an ATI card in there! How's that for sealed, brand new merchandise?

We went through this frustration back at summer's end.

I had bought a B3 in too much a hurry, and could've waited a month or two just to have a bigger PROBABILITY of getting a G0.

But I do a lot of "window-shopping" just to check prices.

What I discovered is that some resellers actually advertise the stepping, and I found some sites -- even some with whom I'd done satisfactory business before -- who specify "G0" stepping.

That's why, even if I were decided to replace my B3 with just the G0 stepping, I wouldn't buy at NewEgg for it. They won't specify the stepping, and even a couple months ago, the customer reviews for the same month had people saying they DID get the G0, with others saying they got the B3.

So even if you check the photo of the retail-box sticker on that web-site, there's no certainty which stepping you'll get.

Hope US retailers are just as accessible to you as the Canadian. I think I've ordered from Canada before, though . . . . so it should be reciprocal.

" Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor LGA775 Kentsfield 2.40GHZ 1066FSB 8MB Retail Box - Slacr "

This is what was advertised and clearly stated on the invoice and packing slip.
That is as clear as water to me.

Did the RMA things and the bloody shipping cost is in excess of $15 which is the end of my savings that i got on the deal - it was at a good price now with this shipping the deal is mud now.
Darn darn darn - pi$$es me off. Why should I have to pay for shipping?? This is the last time I buy from directcanada. Done finito forever. Other problem is I opened the darn thing but did not use and part of the RMA is it has to be unopened. I am screwed. %^*$*(^
