I've read a bit about it, and when I posed a question to certain people about going with the KG7-RAID.. a lot of them said to go with Gigabyte for it since they started out with DDR boards and going with the manufacturer who started using it first is usually the best way to go. Not to mention how many excellent reviews it has gotten. The real reasons I think I'd go with the KG7 myself would be how you can support up to 8 IDE devices and the 4 DIMM sockets.
I think it's a great idea to have 4 IDE connectors on the board even for the simple reason that I'm sure a lot of you out there have run into. You don't want to run your cd-rom and hard drive on the same channel because it will slow down access to the hard drive when you're accessing both from what I've read and seen in real life tests myself. Plus, the chances of making coasters and/or it simply taking INCREDIBLY LONG when you're copying CDs on-the-fly when you have both the source drive and the burner on the same channel. If you have nero, it will warn you not to do that and will be able to detect when they're both on the same channel before you burn. =-p
Any opinions, comments, or suggestions are welcomed. Let's see what the people who read this stuff have to say. Speak up and be heard.
