B&M brown bread or brown bread with raisins. How to decide?

They're both good. The one with raisins is a little sweeter. Plain is usually a bit cheaper on amazon. That's where I have to get it, cause they don't sell it down here.

Canned bread? For my grandmother "brown bread" was dark rye.

It's not sweet, though. At all.

didn't know they have bread in cans. I have made bread for decades before I got a bread machine. Nowadays I just make my favorite loaf. It's organic whole wheat rye with caraway seeds.

They have it here in SC at Walmart and World Market...

Both Raisin and Original.

Looking up the recipes it looks pretty easy to make. Don't even need to let it rise or anything. Basically looks like soda bread with molasses mixed in. Looks good. Might try and bake it at some point.

This (among other things) is what's so screwey about that place. You can spend $8-9 per can for regular (options 1 and 2), or you can spend $3 a can (option 4) for it. Add raisins and it goes for $7.50 a can (option 5), or $5 a can (option 3). They all free delivery in one way or another.

Look for a whole flat. It's usually cheaper, but you have to pay attention on amazon. Last two times it was walmart who shipped it.

I've had it as a kid and I am in California.
My dad liked it and he's originally from east coast.
This stuff has been around for probably 100 years.

Just checked, B&M started making this canned brown bread in 1928.

I bought some Moxie from amazon just so I could try it. Expensive getting it shipped. I don't drink much soda, but I'd consider it a choice if it was available locally. Too expensive to buy online though, and I could count the soda I drink in a year on one hand.
