holy cow, i didnt know what Succos holiday is until BH is closed until oct 15th.
so im guessing the store owners are Jewish?

Yes, they are Jewish. Hasidic/Orthodox, if I'm not mistaken. It's currently the high holy days, including Sukkot and Rosh Hashanah.

3rd world problem: Need time off from work because your imaginary sky fairy will get mad if you don't do some ritual stuff for them. Omniscient fairies have anger issues and crave your attention. Who knew? I'm just kidding. It's not just a 3rd world problem. It's global. Although it's more kind of funny than a problem.
