B-17 Flying Fortress...has anyone played it?

I have been reading the reviews and man are they mixed. So I would like to get some Anandtech'ers view on this game..The one thing that really disappoints me is the lack of multiplayer, which is how this game was touted in the first place.

No help here but I heard that you need SOME serious hardware to get it to run smooth.

Just a thought.

I've got the hardware...just don't know if I want to get it without the multiplayer!!

I was just going to ask this question, I saw this game at the Mall last week and it looked good, of course the box quoted a bunch of game magazines saying it was amazing, but i was looking for a more un-biased review, anyone have a link to any?

I played it and it does take a enormous amount of raw power to run this game. It runs choppy sometimes on my rig. The graphics are impressive but the pace of the games is slow. The learnign curve is also pretty steep also for me.

I'm just really disappointed that this game is not anything like they touted it to be..ie..the multiplayer tout of 8 guys flying in one plane as a team taking on a German ME109 and then unloading its ordinance. Thats just disappointing!!
