I've got a WRT54G v4 and I'm running Azureus. My internet connection will randomly walk down to 0up and 0down... then a minute or two later kick back in. For the most part, I think it is Azureus interacting with the Linksys router but I'm not positive because it has happened before when I wasn't using Azureus. I've tried all the tricks I can find for this router, I'm now running DD-WRT and have used the startup scripts for the nvram to try and fix the issue. I've edited the number of connections and limited my bandwidth... used QoS as well.
I'm going nuts.
Do I need to buy a new router? Has anyone else had an issue like this? Is there a way to fix it?
If I were going to disable the router, what sort of software firewall would be a possible replacement?
