i've been using azureus for a week or so now and i like it overall but i'm getting a little put off at the rate at which it crashes. it seems to be pretty random. could happen after 1/2 an hour, could happen after 24 hours. it will be going along and then javaw.exe's CPU usage hits 99% and I have to kill it in taskmanager. i've actually learned to listen for my laptop's fan when I'm not actually using it. "oops, fan came on, azureus crashed again."

has anyone else had this problem, and did they figure out what was causing it? i am downloading/uploading a number of *ahem* "rather large" files right now, so could that be what's causing it?

azureus is updated. i downloaded and installed the version of java you linked to. i looked in my add/remove programs and the version of java i was running was like an "SE" version 1.5.something. it had just recently asked to be updated and I have done so, so I assumed I had the latest and greatest. But your version looks like version 5 of a non-SE run-time. So hopefully that's more suitable. anyway i uninstalled the old version and azureus is working for now.

i will post again if it crashes again, but hopefully the different java run-time will make the difference. thanks amdfanboy.

I hope it doesn't.
