Anyone ever hear of or listen to Ayreon and/or its offshoots?

This has to be one of my favorite bands of all time.

I guess it would be considered progressive rock/metal but they mix all kinds of musical styles and i think its just awesome.

I've not met another person who has ever heard of them, except my one friend because I had him listen to them. Its a European band.
 
I've looked high and low, but can't find any Ayreon in the local stores. 🙁 I am a big fan of Prog Rock/Metal, with fav's such as Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, and Opeth (omg Opeth kicks ass!). I may break down and order from Amazon or another online store.
 
Ayreon is some great stuff. Stream of Passion (an offshoot) was ok, but I prefered The Human Equation though.. mostly for the wide variety of singers.

yeah, good luck finding any of their stuff in stores. Media Play was the only place I was ever able to find it. Amazon carries pretty much all of their CDs though.

Media Play's around here (Michigan) are going out of business.. and most everything is 50% off now. I heard that they have Stream of Passion with DVD for $7.95. Most likely because noones ever heard of them.
 
Yea, I love Ayreon!
Star one is fvcking awesome as well.

I've picked up most of their CDs from Amazon over the years.

I first heard them in the late 90s when I heard "Into the Electric Castle." I've been a fan ever since.
