Ayone tried the Delta Mod?

Was wondering if anyone tried the delta mod, so that the fan was a little bit higher to reduce backflow, and wasn't flush against the heatsink. People usually use washer or the pencil trick. Anyone tried this so far? If so, how much difference in noise and/or temps did you see?
 
I got longer screws for my mc370, and put rubber grommets between it and my HSF. My temps dropped 2c, and noise dropped too. I have sets of longer screws for your mc370 fs for 1.50 each..
