AXP-M & KT400

I've got a Giga-byte GA-7VAXP Ultra that utilizes VIA's KT400 NB. It has been suggested to me to pick up an Athlon XP Mobile 2500+ in leiu of my original choice, a standard AXP 3000+.

If I opt for the Mobile, will it work (I presume it will because it's esentially a Barton)? I know my mobo has BIOS settings to change FSB. I'll have to check on multiplier control, and AGP lock. Also, I know that voltage control is a meek +5%, +7.5%, +10%.

Even with multiplier control, would this even be a worthwhile venture, or am I better off just getting an AXP 3000+ and leave it be ?
