I'm wondering if the CPU thermal diode on my Epox 8KHA+ is reading accurately. At POST, the BIOS reads about 31-33 degrees Celsius for the CPU temp, even after going through the full (non-quick) powerup self test (it takes about 1 min to test my 512MB RAM at POST in this mode).
How do you check the CPU temperature after you've booted up? As I said, I have an Epox 8KHA+ and it didn't seem to come with any utilities to check this from Windows. So I don't know how to check the temp under load, but I've rebooted after running a lengthy time, and still see the CPU temps around 31C-33C.
I don't know what CPU idle temps are supposed to look like but had thought they would be in the high 30's or low 40's. I have an AXP 1800+, with Thermalright SK-6/Delta 7K so I was hoping to have a pretty cool CPU, but this seems too low so I'm wondering if I'm getting a bad reading off the MB's thermal diode.
Thanks!
