Get rid of the cats.

Any muffler upgrade sucks unless you get rid of the cats =] IMO

Not legal in any state to remove emissions systems from a vehicle. Besides, it's not like he's running it heavily modified to a point where something like that would actually be beneficial. The only significant thing he would be doing by going cat-less is annoy the people driving around him with the fumes coming from the car.

Yep. The car is bone stock except for the mufflers. Probably going to stay that way too. Now that I'm married and own a house I can't be throwing money into the car to make it faster. If I'm lucky I'll be able to afford the parts for my 66' Rambler restoration. 400hp at the crank is enough for me though. More than that seems like a waste unless I actually track the car.

For $360 that extra rumble is nice though.
