Axim X5 PocketPC Specifications Confirmed by Dell & High-Rez image. DIZZZZAM!!

Nice specs indeed.

NFS4, you've probably did more reading on the x-scale then I have. Are the different speed chips completly different, or is there some sort of hardware/software tweak one could do to bump their 300mhz processor to a 400mhz chip. I'm guessing it's not easy, but then again, the $100 price difference could also account for having half the amount of ROM too.

Nice specs for the price, but ugly and big (about the size of a Casio EM500). Also, the prices are after rebates of undisclosed amounts.

There's no way to "overclock" the 300MHz to 400MHz (at least not yet). There is a proggy from JimmySoftware that allows you to take the 206MHz StrongARM processor from anywhere between 162MHz to 236MHz, however. Maybe they will make a utility.

One more day until Tablet PCs are offically launched(currently only Acer Tablet PCs are out). Im going to wait and see how they turn out.

2-3 pounds
16 hour battery life
10-12" screens
733Mhz-1Ghz CPU
40-60GB HDD
128MB - 1GB RAM

They will be pricey but uh, Im going to wait to see how they turn out.

So does this mean that if I'm using an CF 802.11b card, I can't have a CF memory card in there? I wonder how that'll work?

Right. You can have a CF 802.11b card in there and an SD memory card though.

So are u getting the viewsonic or the dell?

The dell seems much larger but it has the cf slot, I would get the viewsonic in a heartbeat but the headphone location is just weird, why can't they have put it on the top.

I'm gonna get either the X5 or V35 or just get an iPod

Honestly, I'd get the dell. I LOVE dual slots on my maestro, it leaves lots of room open for expansion.

I'd get the Dell PDA if it weren't so gawd damn big, bulky, and heavy. The e550G has dual slots and it weighs 6.0 ounces and is .61 inches thick. The Dell PDA weighs 6.9 ounces and is .67 inches thick.

This PDA is not only bulkier and heavier than the old Maestro I used to have, but it's also bigger than the iPAQs and almost as big as the first generation PocketPC bricks (E-115, EM-500).
