I just built my dad a new computer.

AX8 w/ Athlon 64 3000+
512MB Crucial DDR 400
GeForce 6600GT PCIEX
80GB WD SATA HDD

And my problem is this....
When you shut it down, either by pressing and holding the power button, or by start>shutdown in Windows, as soon as it would normally power off @ the end of the shutdown process, it starts back up. The only was to get it to shut off and stay off is to flip the PSU switch on the back.
Any ideas?

Check the power option section and verify that the PC is set to turn off when you hit the power switch. Also disable hibernate.

Flash BIOS to version 1.1. Reset CMOS. Download the latest 4 in 1 driver. Reboot and retest.

Have you always had this problem form day one?

Thanks for the tips. I'm going over to his place tomorrow to troubleshoot, so I'll try those things then. I have reset the CMOS, and it shutdown properly the first time, but then resumed the odd rebooting.

And yes, this problem has been there since day one.

Thanks for the tips, I'll let you know if that does the trick!
