AX8 Delay Shut Down

Have an AX8. 1GB RAM is 24 hr stable. CPU is AMD 3000 winchester. Clean install WXP Pro SP2 (also test with SP1). No other drivers and proggies are added. BIOS set to default. Test with BIOS 1.0 and 1.1.

About one out of forty start/shutdown cycle will result with the PC hanging in the "windows is shutting down" screen. The PC will eventually shut down in about 15 min. I also tested with all applicable drivers installed. Same result.

Tested a friend's system (same configuration except for the RAM manufacturer). Same thing!

Note that I run about 50 consecutive start/shutdown cycles. Can other AX8 owners duplicate this anomaly?
